John Dowd: Running for State Chairman Pic 20 964-6252 jtd7171@aol.com

On December, 11, 2000, Coos County Republicans met in West Milan at the town hall to elect New Hampshire Republican Committee members. There was an excellent turnout despite predictions of freezing rain. Fortunately it appears the weather held until folks could make it home.

We were pleased to have two visitors from the south and seacoast, John Dowd, running for state chairman, and Steve Duprey, Chairman of the New Hampshire State Committee..

There was some discussion over just how candidates would be presented and elected, and then we got down to business.

Things went pretty efficiently, with the few normal snags you expect with any such process and the meeting wrapped up in a couple of hours.

Some of the elected officials, Harold Burns and Tom Corrigan, as well as Fred King (who was unable to attend, but had let his wishes be known), were kind enough to step down to allow more party activists to become involved in a more formal way.
